Holy Angels Catholic Church of the Deaf (HAC) is a Personal Parish for Catholic Deaf People and their families living in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The purpose of HAC is to provide a place for worship, prayer and gathering for Deaf people and their families of Los Angeles
We the people of Holy Angels Church of the Deaf humbly accept our calling and mission to participate in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Baptized into the Body of Christ, confirmed in the Holy Spirit, and nourished by the Word and Eucharist, we share Christ’s mission of priest, prophet and servant to the Deaf community of Southern California.
Spearheaded by Father Brian Doran and Father Tom Schweitzer (both are deaf), Pastors, in response to the call of Vatican II for a greater participation in church and the need to evangelize a very large unchurched but baptized Catholic Deaf People, Holy Angels Church of the Deaf was canonically established as a Personal Parish for the Cath
Spearheaded by Father Brian Doran and Father Tom Schweitzer (both are deaf), Pastors, in response to the call of Vatican II for a greater participation in church and the need to evangelize a very large unchurched but baptized Catholic Deaf People, Holy Angels Church of the Deaf was canonically established as a Personal Parish for the Catholic Deaf Community in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in California by the then-Archbishop Roger Mahony on March 31, 1987.
