Spring Cleaning Day

Hello Dear Angels!

Saturday April 1, we plan to hold our annual spring cleaning day for our church. The event will give us all an opportunity to pitch in and really give our church a thorough cleaning.

We will be open for cleaning from 9am until 12 noon. Come when you can, and spend as much time as you can afford during this time period.  Please put on your “grubbies” and join us for what promises to be a fun time together making our church look better.  If you have questions, please contact us at info@hacofthedeaf.org

HAC Awarded Grant by Vernon CommUNITY Fund

We are pleased to inform our Holy Angels community that the city of Vernon’s CommUNITY Fund has awarded Holy Angels with a $45,000 grant!  Thanks to the generosity of our Vernon CommUNITY Fund partner, Holy Angels is able to hire Youth Coordinators to assist in the social, emotional, spiritual, physical, intellectual, and linguistic development of Deaf children/youth and their siblings who live in Vernon and its neighboring cities such as: Bell, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Cudahy, Huntington Park, etc.

Specifically, through the grant program we aim to provide retreats, weekly workshops, service activities, peer-counseling services, and social outings to our Deaf youth.  Through these activities, it is our hope that our youth will become well-rounded individuals who’ll achieve self-determination and make a difference in their own communities.

Once more, to the Vernon CommUNITY Fund we say, THANK YOU!!

Silent Day – March 12, 2016

Welcome to our First Silent Day of the 2016 School Year!

Holy Angels Church of the Deaf’s Youth Ministry Program is pleased to offer a Silent Day for the Spring 2016 semester for area colllege students who are learning American Sign Language.  All levels of ASL are invited to attend and participate!

The purpose of this activity is for ASL students to take part in a full-immersion day of ASL by interacting with Deaf people through games, meaningful activities, practical dialogues, and incidental signing opportunities!  Moreover, ASL students will have a genuine ‘deaf’ experience!

During the entire day, ASL students are asked not to use spoken English at all!  By participating in this full-immersion experience, you’ll have plenty of opportunites to apply and practice what you’ve learned in your classes!  Guidelines and rules will be explained on the day of the event.  Please sign up early as this event is limited to only 100 participants! Tickets are $20 and this includes lunch and one beverage.  If there are questions, please contact Joanna Hinojosa at jhinojosa@hac.la

Midnight Mission Pictures

On Sunday, November 22, 2015 our Youth Ministry and RCIA students went on a special trip to the Midnight Mission in Downtown L.A.  Working together, with our Midnight Mission partners, we prepared food and served food to our hundreds of homeless brothers and sisters.  We thought that our work would offer them a beacon of hope and love, instead, with their humility and meekness, they brought Jesus Christ to all.  Your support for Holy Angels allows us to create opportunities such as these for our Deaf youth, children, and their families.  Consider us as an organization to support on #GivingTuesday.  Blessings!
